The Loch Lomond Single Cask 10 years old 2009 Alvi’s Drift Muscat de Frontignan Finish Selected by Slijterij Frans Muthert & Dramtime.nl is a unique single cask cooperation between a distillery, a winemaker and a retailer. Together with Aliv’s Drift Slijterij Frans Muthert & Dramtime.nl have selected an ex-Muscat de Frontigan dessert wine cask from the South-African winery. It was shipped to Scotland where it was filled with a 9,5 year old fruity Loch Lomond single malt distilled in November 2009. This Highlands single malt was finish in cask 19/470-1 for about 8 months before being bottled in February 2020 at natural cask strength of 53,2% ABV, non chill filtered and with no added colour, as a limited single cask release of 326 bottles.

This PACKAGE DEAL is a combination of the Loch Lomond Single Cask 10yo 2009 Alvi’s Drift Muscat de Frontignan Finish Selected by Slijterij Frans Muthert & Dramtime.nl (53,2%) (70cl) and the Alvi’s Drift Muscat de Frontignan (37,5cl).

Nose: oak spices, vanilla and pear

Palate: warming oak spices, ginger, grape juice, vanilla and fudge

Finish: medium long with warm oak aromas, vanilla, soft spices, and grape juice

There is almost syrupy thickness to the fruit, which in itself is unusual for the depth of pear-like lead. Oh... my... word...!!! What happened there? My palate has just been submerged in one of the stickiest yeat beautifully crafted fruit deliveries it hs come across in years. This is like some kind of chocolate liqueur. Even with a slight hint of passion fruit, to up the eye-watering qualities. Salivating and so chocolatey.... Still a little passion fruit on the finla with spcies and buley running amok. One of those rare whiskies which is every bit as remarkable for its mouthfeel than it is for its flavour personality, which in itself borders on the unique. No, what the hell! This IS unique! A malt whose beauty you can only marvel at.... I am truly blown away...
