Faustino V Blanco

In 1960 Don Juli Faustino Martinez started to use the Faustino name for his family wine business. The success in Spain and far abroad increased rapidly resulting in more vineyards, basements and ‚barricas‘. Faustino now owns 800 ha of vineyards, mostly located in the best parts of Rioja Alavesa,  and is responsible for the complete production process.

The V Blanco is a blend of Chardonnay and Viura. All grapes come from vineyards with different soils though all have high chalk levels. The vinification is modern with a chilled fermentation followed by a maturation in stainless steel tanks and fast bottling. The wine has a bright yellow colour with a green shine. The fragrance is elegant and intense with notes of exotic fruit and grapefruit. The palate is fresh and dry with a whiff of spices and some floral notes as well as a hint of honey. Best served with bouillabaisse, fish with sauce, cold meat, tapas or as an aperitif.
