The Sartori Bardolino comes from the hills South-East of lake Garda, around the Bardolino Classico region. This region is known for it's sheltered environment with a long and stable autumn due to the presence of the lake. At the same time mount Monte Lessini shelters against cold winds from the North. The Bardolino Classico DOC is made from the Corvina Veronese (40%), Rondinella (30%), Corvinone (15%) and Molinara (10%) grapes. These grapes mainly come from vineyards with a stone soil from glaciers. After a mild contusion the fermenting most stays in contact with the peels for four days. The young wine therafter matures for 4-6 months in traditional wooden casks and stainless steel tanks. After bottling it matures for a short time in the bottle before being distributed.
The Bardolino Classico has an intense ruby red colour with aromas of lots of red fruit. The palate is silky with again lots of red fruit. The wine is best served with pasta dishes and poultry.
