Description

The Reservado Malbec Mendoza comes from the Mendoza region in Argentina. The vineyeards here are on average 30 years old and the grapes are handpicked in small batches between the 28th of March and the 13th of April. During 5 days they are macerated with skin contact followed by a controlled fermentation at 26-28°C during 20 to 25 days. 60% matures in French oak casks for 12 months after which the wine is blended and bottled. The result is a ruby red and slightly purple  red wine from Argentina’s most famous grape. The palate is balanced with dark fruit, floral aromas, wood and a long an d pleasant finish with subtle tannins. This wine pairs well with a variety of meat and has an ageing potential of around 5 years.

Phebus

The Phebus wines come from the Argentinian winemaker Fabre Montmayou. Hervé J. Fabre, born in the Bordeaux, arrived in Argentina in the early 90’s looking for possibilities to invest in vineyards. He was impressed by the potential and quality of the Malbec grapes which made him decide to build his first vineyard in 1992: Fabre Montmayou. He became one of the pioneers in Argentinian wines made from a single grape variety. The company combines the modern techniques of wine making, the terroir of Mendoza and the “savoir faire” from the Bordeaux for making wines with a unique personality. The grapes come from the best regions in Mendoza and Patagonia.
