This Reservado Chardonnay Mendoza comes from the Argentinian Mendoza region, more precise the Valle de Uco. The vineyards here are on average 20 years old and the grapes are handpicked in small batches. They are hand selected and cold skin macerated followed by a fermentation in tanks at 14-16°C. 50% matures in French oak casks for 12 months after which it is blended with the other 50%. The result is a yellow coloured Chardonnay with a green touch and fresh and fruity aromas of tropical fruit and citrus. The palate is complex followed by a long and elegant finish. This wine pairs well with curry’s, chicken and fish stews and has an ageing potential of around 5 years.
Phebus
The Phebus wines come from the Argentinian winemaker Fabre Montmayou. Hervé J. Fabre, born in the Bordeaux, arrived in Argentina in the early 90’s looking for possibilities to invest in vineyards. He was impressed by the potential and quality of the Malbec grapes which made him decide to build his first vineyard in 1992: Fabre Montmayou. He became one of the pioneers in Argentinian wines made from a single grape variety. The company combines the modern techniques of wine making, the terroir of Mendoza and the “savoir faire” from the Bordeaux for making wines with a unique personality. The grapes come from the best regions in Mendoza and Patagonia.
