Big Peat is a peated blended Islay malt based on whisky's from Port Ellen, Bowmore, Ardbeg and Caol Ila bottled by the independent bottler Douglas Laing. This peated whisky was first introduced in 2009 and since then it's been a huge success. It has about 40 PPM and can be best placed somewhere between an Ardbeg and a Lagavulin. This is a 5cl miniature.
Nose: strong peat aromas with notes of wet smoke and citrus
Palate: smoky peat with notes of burned wood and dry ash
Finish: medium long with loads of peat, some sea influences and a hint of citrus
