Rock Oyster is a maritime blended malt of Islands whisky’s bottled by the independent bottler Douglas Laing. A vatted malt made from Jura, Arran, Orkney and Islay whisky’s and the new brother of the other Douglas Laing vatted malts Timorous Beastie (Highlands), Scallywag (Speyside) and Big Peat (Islay). Rock Oyster is a tribute to the sea and a small batch release made from the finest maritime malts. The price of opening the oyster is in this case no pearl but a remarkable, delicate and rich whisky with aromas of the sea. Bottled at 46,8% ABV, non chill filtered and with no added colour.
Nose: salt oceans, fresh citrus notes and subtle peat smoke
Palate: subtle with soft peat, honey, moist ash, liquorice and later on also pepper
Finish: long with all aromas from the palate

erg fijne whisky! dronk tot voor kort alleen maar Talisker en Lahproaig. dit is een mooie toevoeging daarop. Erg zout maar dat wordt goed gecompenseerd door de eiken, citrus en turf tonen. Fijn pepertje in de afdronk trouwens.
Ziltige whisky zoals ik hem nog niet kende. Zeer goed!
