The Lost Distillery Company Jericho is a blended malt and a replica of the Jericho single malt that was distilled over 100 years ago. In 2013 The Lost Distillery Company started reproducing whisky's of long lost distilleries.
The Jericho Distillery was founed in 1822 in a remote valley close to Insch in Aberdeenshire. After the takeover in 1883 it was named Benachie. The quality and reputation remianed while the production was increased significantly. Due to the crisis in the whisky industry the distillery closed in 1913. Characterizing this reincarnation of Jericcho/Benachie is the sole use of sherry matured whisky's.
This Jericho was bottled in the Classic Selection series containing malts of 12 to 15 years old bottled at 43% ABV. The flavor profile is similar to a Dalmore release.
