The Distiller’s Art Braeval 13 years old 2001 is a Speyside single malt bottled in the Distiller’s Art series of Langside Distillers (Hunter Laing). In this series only single casks are bottled at 48% ABV. This Braeval, which used to be named Braes of the Glenlivet, was distilled in May 2001 and matured in a refill sherry butt. It was bottled in 2014 at 46% ABV, non chill filtered and with no added colour. A limited single cask release of 784 bottles.
Nose: fruity and sweet with mandarin, orange and grapefruit followed by vanilla cream, butterscotch and fresh spices
Palate: sweet and fruity with lots of citrus followed by bee wax, mint, bitter caramel and cloves
Finish: medium long with soft cake, orange marmalade, milk chocolate and a hint of coffee and caramel
