Gordon & Macphail Discovery Bunnahabhain 10yo

The Gordon & Macphail Discovery Bunnahabhain 10 years old is a peated Islay single malt bottled in the Discovery series by the independent bottler Gordon & Macphail. A series that is sorted around three categories; Bourbon, Sherry and Smoky. This Bunnahabhain is one of the third category and matured in bourbon casks for 10 years. It was bottled in 2019 at 43% ABV, non chill filtered and with no added colour.

Nose: Sweet and creamy; vanilla custard topped with crushed meringue and zesty lemon curd. Fresh cut grass swirls with aromas of the seaside; sea weed, brine, and sea salt. Light peat smoke envelopes the nose throughout.

Palate: Candied lime and lemon sit upon a bed of stewed pear and currants. Nuances of velvety milk chocolate lead to richer leather undertones with hints of liquorice. 

Finish: Long and smooth on the finish with refined woody tones, tobacco, and bonfire embers.
