Compass Box Peat Monster Arcana

The Compass Box Peat Monster Arcana is a special limited edition Peat Monster release from Compass Box. This blended malt contains a high portion of Talisker as well as some Ardbeg and was bottled at 46% ABV.

The exact make-up of this release is:

• Talisker from a refill hogshead (71,4%)
• Miltonduff from a first fill bourbon barrel (10,4%)
• The Peat Monster Blended Malt Whisky from Refill Custom French Oak barrels with a Heavy Toast (9,4%)
• Ardbeg from a recharred barrel (6,7%)
• Highland Malt Blend from a Custom French Oak Barrel with a Heavy Toast (2,1%)

Tasting notes: “The majority of the recipe comprises waxy and delicately smoky malt whisky from the Talisker distillery, while small amounts of malt whisky from the Ardbeg and Miltonduff distilleries lend flavors of tarry peat and a charming fruitiness, respectively. Peat Monster Arcana has a more oak frame than The Peat Monster, with a subtler smokiness.”
