Säntis Malt Edition Himmelberg

Säntis Malt is a Swiss malt whisky made from clean spring water, grains from higher grounds and has matured in up to 130 year old beer casks. At this moment there are five releases available bottled by the Brauerei Locher (Locher brewery). This Edition Himmelberg is a blend of port, sherry, Merlot and several other wine casks. It is bottled at 43% ABV, non chill filtered and with no added colour.

Nose: lightsweet aromas, ripe pears, light spices like vanilla and cinnamon, a hint of beer and oak

Palate: lightsweet with again some pear followed by more powerful spice notes, pepper, caramelized ginger, espresso, roasted almonds, cocoa powder, berries and oak

Finish: drying spices and oak, warm, a little pungent and with a hint of ginger
