The Glenfiddich 15 years old Solera Reserve is a unique Speyside single malt. This 15 years old release has matured in three different oak casks; sherry, bourbon and new oak. After that it is put together in a massive 32000 liters handmade wooden Solera casks that is always filled for at least 50%. After that it shortly matured in small Solera casks before itt was first bottled in 2006 at 40% ABV.
Nose: creamier with some added notes of cake, apple compote, grape juice, freshness and smoothness which make it very enjoyable with a hint of honey
Palate: much more body than the 12 years old and with lots of caramel, white pepper, apple compote, dried orange, some burnt cake, toffee and charred wood
Finish: medium long with a hint of apple pie
