This 19 years old Glenfiddich is bottled in the Age of Discovery series and has matured in a Madeira cask. A limited edition and the first range of Glenfiddich single malt that has matured in ex-Madeira casks. This Age of Discovery honours the pioneering of the Portugese pioneers. They discovered the islands Porto Santo and Madeira. Strategical discoveries back in that ages leading to a better supply for the ships and troops and easing a travel to India.
This thought also counts for Glenfiddich since founder William Grant also discovered the world by traveling. Though he did to brand and sell his whisky.
This Glenfiddich is packed in a matching box containing illustrations of the journey the Portugese made to discover Madeira. The black bottle has a red compass which illustrates the journey as well. A limited release in the Netherlands of only 158 bottles.
