The Glenfarclas £511.19s.0d Family Reserve 150th Anniversary is a remarkable and special release Glenfarclas to celebrate the distilleries’ 150th anniversary. A whisky with a slightly name which shortly makes you think it refers to the price of the bottle. But no, the £511.19s.0d Family Reserve, refers to the 511 pound and 19 shilling that John Grant, 1st generation, paid for the Glenfarclas distillery on the 8th of June 1865. This whisky is honouring 150 years of Glenfarclas craftsmanship and is a vatting of predominantly first fill sherry butts which proudly embodies the distillery’s sherry profile, bringing together all the character of this great spirit across the generations. It was distilled with no age statement at 43% ABV, non chill filtered and with no added colour. A copy of the original bill of sale is included with each bottle along with a note from George Grant explaining the significance of the £511.19s.0d Family Reserve to the Grant family tradition.

Palate: a dry yet sweet taste, a lovely balance of fruit, light nuttiness and milk chocolate develop
Finish: very palatable long and easy finish
