The Benromach 10 years old is fully distilled by the current owners, Gordon & Macphail, who bought the distillery from Diageo end of the nineties. This Speyside single malt is known for his very clean flavour achieved by using lightly peated and malted grain.
Nose: hints of a farm and maltiness, a bit of grass, aromas of tea and light smoke and peat followed by vanilla custard, chamomile, some porridge, more grass notes and a hint of mustard
Palate: first hints of liquorice and mustard followed by slightly sour blackberry jam and some drying leather notes with some saltiness and lightly roasted and sweeter notes of coffee beans
Finish: surprisingly long with pleasant and melting notes of moor and white rum
