The Teeling Single Grain is the second Irish single grain whiskey after Greenore. To be more precise, this whisky was initially destined to become a Greenore until the Teeling Whisky Company bought it and decided to do something special with it. It was matured in former Californian Cabernet Sauvignon casks resulting in a sweet whiskey with a lot of spicy and fruity accents. This is the second batch of 5000 bottles bottled in October 2014 at 46% ABV, non chill filtered. This is a 6cl sample.
Nose: aromas of dried lingonberries, raisins, dairy butter, vanilla, honey, coconut, cinnamon, ginger and cloves
Palate: first dry and spicy with notes of cinnamon and freshly sawn oak, then sweeter and fruitier with notes of lingonberries, prunes, raisins, candied oranges and creamy caramel
Finish: long, dry and warming with spicy notes
