Highland Park Odin (55,8%)

The Highland Park Odin 16 years old is the fourth and last release in the Highland Park Valhalla Collection. It’s the successor of Thor (2012), Loki (2013) and Freya (2014). This last release is named after Odin, allfather of the Norewegian gods and ruler of Asgard. Someone with a very complex character and known as a man of fury. That’s also what this whisky is about. This Orkney single malt is 16 years old and bottled in 2015 at cask strength of 55,8% ABV. A limited release of 17000 bottles.

Nose: spicy with cinnamon and nutmeg followed by walnuts and hints of smoke

Palate: firm and powerful, very complex with layers of peat, heavy oak and charred walnuts

Finish: a coating subtle sweetness
