Highland Park Dark Origins

The Highland Park Dark Origins is the newest no age statement expression in the Highland Park core range. A teenage whisky matured mostly in first fill sherry casks, almost twice as much as with the 12 years old. It’s 80% first-fill Sherry (20% refill), with about 60% first-fill European oak casks and 20% first-fill American oak casks used. It was bottled at 46,8%, non chill filtered and with no added colour.

Colour: dark mahony wood

Nose: dusty baking spices and cocoa at first, cinnamon, vanilla, dates, coffee cream, blackcurrants, liquorice and butterscotch

Palate: sweet with fragrant peat and nutty melted milk chocolate and a little orange and pastries

Finish: long and sweet with a little dry chocolate and a hint of heathersmoke
