The Smokehead Islay single malt was introduced end of April 2006 to hit the travel retail market. This version is an extra peated variant.
Nose: powerful and robust with peat, lemon, fresh ginger, plum marmalade, fresh raw salmon and salt
Palate: an explosion of cocoa, peat and sweet aromas of honey, then pepper with Saganaki (Greek cheese) and more peat. At the moment the peat is gone there comes a burst of more including sweet aromas (madarins)
Finish: powerful, long and with lots of peat, spices and pleasant sweet aromas at the end
