Lagavulin 12yo Special Release 2020 (56,4%)

The Lagavulin 12 years old Special Release 2020 is the infamous and yearly Lagavulin cask strength release bottled in the Diageo Special Releases series. This 2020 edition matured in refill American oak casks and was bottled in 2020 at natural cask strength of 56,4% ABV.

Tasting notes: Unusually ashy top notes for Lagavulin on the nose, but with typical linseed oil in time. Fruity notes of boiled sweets, and sea air. On the palate, the flavour is sweeter than expected, smoky with a little sea salt. Long and smoky finish with a salty aftertaste.
