Kilchoman Machir Bay

The Kilchoman Machir Bay was the first regular/core range release of this young Islay distillery and is a vatted malt of 4 and 5 year old Kilchomans. Both have matured in first fill bourbon casks but the 4 years old has got a 4 week finish in Oloroso sherry butts. A surprisingly rich single malt with gentle peat aromas combined with a hint of sherry. It is bottled at 46% ABV, non chill filtered and with no added colour.

Nose: lemon and citrus with a sweet smoky aroma

Palate: vanilla and butterscotch with intense sweet peat

Finish: lingering with an intense sweet peaty aftertaste
