The Berry’s Laphroaig 18 years old 1997 for Whisky Import Nederland is a special Islay single malt release by the independent bottler Berry Brothers & Rudd for the Dutch market. Distilled in 1997 and matured in cask 54. Bottled in 2015 at natural cask strength of 50,2% ABV, non chill filtered and with no added colour.

Nose: after 18 years the heavy phenols have been replaced by fruit and maturity with notes of ripe bananas, old leather, white pepper and smoke

Palate: white and yellow fruit, pepper, more spices, oak, salty notes and smoke

Finish: long and satisfying
