Isle of Jura Tastival 2016

The Isle of Jura Tastival 2016 is the third release for the Jura whisky festival. A special limited release matured in bourbon casks followed by a triple sherry finish in Fino, Amoroso and Apostoles sherry casks. It was bottled  in May 2016 at 51% ABV, non chill and with no added colour. The packaging was designed by the German designer Florian Schommer. The design contains Schommer’s personal tasting notes including apple, vanilla and flowers. His colour scheme was based on the blend of maple syrup and roasted hazelnuts.

Nose: warm and creamy caramel with roasted hazelnuts, overripe pears, soft vanilla, maple syrup and old Oloroso sherry with crushed almonds

Palate: baked apples with cane sugar, cinnamon, kiwi and mulled wine

Finish: sundried sultanas with glazed pineapple and lemon
