This Isle of Jura Boutique Superstition is a 'no age statement' (NAS) Islands single malt from the Isle of Jura distillers. The Isle of Jura is the most sparsely populated Scottish island, having only 200 inhabitants. In addition the island inhibits about 5000 deers. The distillery was founded in 1810 but due to deferred maintenance the roofs have to be demolished and the company was out of business for a long time. In 1963 the production started again and in 1969 the distillery was rebuild.
The Superstition is a mysterious whisky with a classic Islay style combined with grain. Also a combination of older and younger malts and peat with sweet grain.
Nose: complex, spicy with honey, peat and a hint of marzipan
Palate: sweet, peat, wood and spicy malty aromas
Finish: long
