The Isle of Jura One for the Road 22 years old is a limited edition honouring the retired former distillery manager Willie Cochrane. On 1977 he arrived on Jura with almost no whisky knowledge and the intention to stay for max a year. As stillman, stillman and later on distillery manager he worked his way up and as such welcomed thousands of visitors to the distillery in the past 11 years. That is now celebrated with this limited release matured in bourbon barrels and finished in Pinot Noir wine casks. Bottled at 47% ABV, non chill filtered and with no added colour.
Nose: freshly baked bread, juicy walnut cake, overripe pineapple and vanilla with a hint of dark chocolate, coffee and macarons
Palate: rich with lots of ginger, cassis, frangipane and caramelized peach. Also notes of glazed nectarines, pears in red wine, muscovado sugar and soft cranberries
Finish: Turkish delight, coffee, fig syrup and cherry cake
