Highland Park Valknut

The Highland Park Valknut is the second release in the Viking Leged series by the Orkney distillery and the successor of the Valkyrie from 2017. The Valknut is partially made from Orkney Tartan barley and it matured mostly in American oak seasoned sherry casks. It’s slightly smokier compared to a core range Highland Park and the Valknut was bottled in 2018 at 46% ABV.

Nose: warm peat smoke with fresh vanilla, thyme honey and sandalwood

Palate: roasted barley and fennel seeds with a hint of cinnamon

Finish: flambeed orange zest with a hint of bbq charcoal, gingerbread and nutmeg
