Early 2017 Glenmorangie launched the Grand Vintage Malt 1990, the first release in the Bond House No. 1 Collection. A successor of the discontinues 25yo Quarter Century and the start of a new sries. In 2018 a 1989 Grand Vintage followed as well as a 1993 Grand Vintage for travel retail only. Now in 2019 there is the 1991 Grand Vintage.
27 years old and a marriage of Glenmorangie malts finished in Oloroso sherry butts as well as ex-Burgundy casks complemented by a small percentage of virgin oak matured malt. The result is a unique combination of sherry and wine cask finishing resulting in a slightly peppery mouthfeel and aromas of stewed apples, milk chocolate, prunes and ripe red fruit. This release was bottled non chill filtered and with no added colour at 43% ABV.
