Glengoyne The Legacy Series Chapter One

The Glengoyne The Legacy Series Chapter One is the first release in the Legacy series from Glengoyne. A series of yearly limited edition releases related to the fascinating history of the Glengoyne distillery. Chapter One tells the story of Cochrane Cartwright (Distillery manager in 1869) started slowing the production process more and more to create a sweeter and more fruity whisky. In addition he also started experimenting with maturations in sherry casks.

This Chapter One 2019 matured in first fill European oak sherry casks as well as some refill casks and was bottled at 48% ABV, non chill filtered and with no added colour.

Nose: toffee, caramel, heather honey, cinnamon and vanilla custard

Palate: soft with sweet sherry influences with aromas of raisins, dried red fruit and vanilla

Finish: long and balanced with some spices and more dried fruit aromas
