Dalwhinnie Distillers Edition 1997 - 2014

This Dalwhinnie was bottled in the Diageo Distillers Edition series 2014. It was distilled in 1997and has matured in bourbon casks. To express the richness of the Dalwhinnie single malt the Master Distiller has selected a small amount of casks for a double maturation in fortified wine casks. The result is a Highlands single malt with pleasant Oloroso sherry influences and notes of heather honey.

Bottled in 2014 at the age of 16.

Nose: freshsherry embraces the more malty and honeyed aspects of Dalwhinnie. Turf-like and surprisingly, yet with heather. Spicy, but with grapes

Palate: a big, spicy excitement followed by an impressive building very clear, pronounced malt. After a quick burst of sweetness moves full of grapes effect towards the middle

Finish: many oaks. Very, very dry with vanilla dominates.
