The Exceptional Malt Second Edition

The Exceptional Malt Second Edition is a blended malt bottled by Sutcliffe & Son. This blended malt consists of malts from Glenfarclas, Blen Nevis, Balvenie, Kininvie, Glenfiddich, Allt-‘Bhainne, Auchroisk, Glenallachie, Westport, Speyside and Macallan. They’ve been blended and finished in first fill Oloroso sherry casks before being bottled in 2016 at 43% ABV.

Nose: rich and creamy with toasted malt, brandy, butter, orange zest and sweet dried fruit

Palate: thick and creamy with nuts, corn, anise and gingerbread followed by Oloroso sherry

Finish: a lot of nutty aromas with Oloroso sherry
