Akkeshi New Born 3 Foundations Series (55%)

The Akkeshi New Born 3 Foundations Series is the third release from the Akkeshi distillery in Japan. A blend of unpeated malts matured between 8 and 23 months in rare Mizunara casks from Hokkaido. This release was bottled at natural cask strength of 55% ABV, non chill filtered and with no added colour.

Nose: butter, almonds, roasted cinnamon, banana and coconut

Palate: oily chocolate with orange zest, incense, spices and ginger

Finish: a good balance between the malt and wood with nutty aromas and banana bread
