Akkeshi New Born 2 Foundations Series (58%)

The Akkeshi New Born 2 Foundations Series is the second release from the Akkeshi distillery in Japan. Bottled in Juna and released in August 2018 this is also the first peated release from this distillery. A vatted blend of peated malts aged between 8 and 17 months in first fill bourbon casks. This release was bottled at natural cask strength of 58% ABV, non chill filtered and with no added colour.

Nose: peat, citrus, dark chocolate, soot, vanilla and salt

Palate: soft sugar and honey aromas with a hint of lemon acidity

Finish: black pepper, bitter cocoa and a hint of salt with milk chocolate
