Glendalough Double Barrel (42%) 6cl sample

The Glendalough Double Barrel is a unique Irish single grain whiskey. This one was first matured in first fill bourbon casks followed by a maturation in Oloroso sherry casks. It was brougth to 42% ABV by the use of water from the Wicklow mountains.

Nose: powerful with lots of dark fruit like cherries and raisins, lemon grass and a hint of nutmeg

Palate: sweet and creamy with notes of caramel, honey, pepper corns, vanilla, brown sugar and some fruit

Finish: long and lingering with notes of ginger and almonds
