Ninkasi French Single Malt Whisky Ex-Rasteau Cask 22 (49,5

The Ninkasi French Single Malt Whisky Ex-Rasteau Cask 22 is a French single malt whisky from the Ninkasi distillery in France. A micro distillery, restaurant and theatre in Southern France which uses its water from the granite mountains in the Beaujolais and which is distilled in two Charentais type copper stills. This single cask release was distilled in June 2017 and matured in Vin Doux Natural casks followed by a 10 months finish in an extra toasted Rasteau barrel. This barrel was bottled in August 2021 at 49,5% ABV, non chill filtered and with no added colour, as a limited single cask release of 342 bottles.

Nose: rich with aromas of grapes, an oxidized dessert wine and toast followed by passion fruit, prunes, dates, walnuts, curry and liquorice

Palate: rich with again some dessert wine aromas followed by honey, ripe peach and cocoa powder as well as malt, biscuits and porridge and red fruit

Finish: long and silky with floral aromas, some spices and oak
