The Westland Peated American Single Malt Whiskey is a peated single malt from Seattle partially distilled from heavily peated barley. A blend of six different barley types; peated malt, Washington Select Pale Malt, Munich Malt, Extra Special Malt, Pale Chocolate Malt and Brown Malt. It is fermented with Belgian brewer’s yeast and matured for at least 24 months in three types of (new) American oak; Cooper’s Select New American Oak, Cooper’s Reserve New American Oak and first fill ex bourbon casks. It was bottled at 46% ABV.
Nose: nuts, grass and orange zest
Palate: peat with bonfire, iodine, roasted pistachio and then more mineral aromas and green spices
Finish: peat, green spices and more iodine
