The Bruichladdich Octomore 10.1 is the first Octomore releases in their tenth series. This Islay single malt from Bruichladdich was made from 100% Scottish Concerto barley from the 2012 harvest. It was peated at 107 PPM and distilled in 2013. It matured for 5 years in first fill American oak casks and from Jim Beam, Heaven Hill, Buffalo Trace and Jack Daniel’s. Edition 10.1 was bottled in 2019 at natural cask strength of 59,8% ABV, non chill filtered and with no added colour. This is a limited release of 42.000 bottles.
Nose: vanilla, caramel, apple, marzipan and light smoky aromas
Palate: peppery with malted barley, smoke, earthiness, rubber, beach and charcoal with grilled pineapple
Finish: sweet fudge with powerful peat smoke and a fresh sea breeze
