De The Balvenie The Stories 12 years American Oak is the first part in a trilogy by The Balvenie called The Stories of The Balvenie. This release was an idea of Malt Master apprentice Kelsey McKechnie. The virgin oak casks from Kentucky have been heavily toasted in The Balvenie cooperage before being filled with bourbon cask matured spirit. A soft and elegant Speyside single malt bottled at 43% ABV called “the sweet toast of American oak”.
Nose: malted barley, toffee, citrus, spices like ginger and cinnamon, vanilla and spicy oak
Palate: candied citrus zests, vanilla, toffee, spicy oak aromas, honey and brown sugar
Finish: medium long with vanilla, soft spices and malted barley
