The Benromach 2006 Chateau Cissac was bottled in the Wood Finish series. This Speyside single malt has was distilled in 2006 and has first matured in first-fill bourbon casks. After that it got a 20 months finish in ex Bordeaux casks that used to contain Chateau Cissac wine. It was bottled in the autumn of 2014 at 45% ABV, non chill filtered and with no added colour. A limited release of 4200 bottles.
Nose: fabolous influence of the Chateau Cissac casks with notes of melon, red apples, delicate and zesty orange peel and dark chocolate with and underlying floral note and a delightful charred oak edge
Palate: slightly peppery with sweet vanilla, creamy milk chocolate, some refreshing lemon, red win and some smoke
Finish: red wine tannins complementing a lingering peat smoke
