The Cooper’s Choice Old Rhosdhu 25 eyas old 1994 Bourbon Cask Matured is an older Highlands single malt from the Loch Lomond distillery bottled by the independent bottler Cooper’s Choice. The name Old Rhosdhu was used for a fruity and floral malt from Loch Lomond that was distilled between 1960 and 2000. Every now and then these casks are bottled by independent bottlers who own a few casks. Nowadays the name Old Rhosdhu is used by Loch Lomond for a remarkable single grain, made from 100% malted barley and distilled in a continuous still, otherwise known as the Loch Lomond Single Grain.
This Old Rhosdhu releases was distilled in February 1994 and matured in bourbon cask 220. It was bottled in 2019 at natural cask strength of 48,5% ABV, non chill filtered and with no added colour. This is a limited single cask release of 360 bottles.
Nose: ripe tropical fruit with stewed and baked apples
Palate: oak and spices with a lot of fruit, a hint of walnuts, toasted oats and some straw
Finish: medium long with aromas of cedarwood and spices
