The Hunter Laing Old & Rare Caol Ila 32 years old 1984 is a an old and remarkable Islay single malt bottled by the independent bottler Hunter Laing. Distilled in January 1984 and matured in a refill sherry hogshead. It was bottled in 2016 in a 1.5 liter magnum bottle as a release of only 20 bottles. Bottled at natural cask strength of 50,9% ABV, non chill filtered and with no added colour.
Nose: typical Islay notes of peat, bonfire, ash, see weed and sea salt
Palate: soft but spicy with peat, soot, smoke and green spices
Finish: long and lingering with subtle spices and peat influences
