The Glenesk 34 years old Gordon & Macphail Rare Old 1979 – 2013 is a Highlands single malt from the in 1985 closed Glen Esk distillery bottled in the Rare Old series by the independent bottler Gordon & Macphail. Distilled in 1979 and matured in refill remade American hogshead RO/13/04. Bottled in 2013 at 46% ABV, non chill filtered and with no added colour. A limited single cask release of 238 bottles.
Nose: aromatic with stewed fruit and menthol, delicate honey and sweet vanilla
Palate: crushed black pepper with orange and strawberry aromas complemented by toasted oak and milk chocolate
Finish: ripe fruit and spices
