The Single Malts of Scotland Glen Elgin 10yo 2010 Selected and Bottled for The Specialist’s Choice (50%) 6cl sample

The Single Malts of Scotland Glen Elgin 10yo 2010 Selected and Bottled for The Specialist’s Choice is a Speyside single malt from the Glen Elgin distillery bottled by the independent bottler The Single Malts of Scotland (Elixir Distillers). This release was bottled especially for a few Dutch specialist whisky retailers and was distilled on the 8^th of March 2010. It matured in first fill bourbon hogshead 801387 and was bottled on the 10^th of September 2020 at 50% ABV, non chill filtered and with no added colour. This is a limited single cask release of 298 bottles. This is a 6cl sample.

Nose: ripe apples and pears with some aromas of fresh flowers and mown grass

Palate: lots of fruit with again aromas of apples and pears but also melon, lemon curd, cinnamon, oak and a light peppery note

Finish: medium long with a lot of fruitiness and some liquorice
