This 22 years old Lowlands single malt comes from the most southern Scottish distillery, Bladnoch. The Bladnoch distillery is almost a museum that nowadays only produces some small batches. Between 1993 and 2001 the distillery was even closed. This edition was distilled in 1993 shortly before the temporary closure, and has matured in refill sherry hogshead casks before being bottled at the end of 2015. Of course non chill filtered and with no added colour.
Nose: fresh and slightly herbal including some fresh mint, subtle malty aromas and notes of exotic fruit
Palate: warming with a hint of mustard powder, creamy and sweet with nice rounded fruit notes, mostly peach
Finish: classical Lowland single malt, gentle with some fruit and a hint of spices
