Glenrothes John Ramsay Legacy (46,7%)

The Glenrothes John Ramsay Legacy is a remarkable Speyside single malt honouring the outgoing Master Distiller of Glenrothes, John Ramsay, in 2009. This whisky is the best of the best; John selected twenty second fill American oak casks and vatted them into sherry butts. A further two were selected from there and were vatted, and reduced to 46,7% ABV to provide this superb bottling.

Nose: rich and spicy with orange marmalade and vanilla

Palate: this is a full-bodied dram with baked tropical fruit notes and a supple softness. There's toffee too and caramalised fruit

Finish: lengthy and sweet with more soft tropical fruit and vanilla
