The Speyburn 10 years old is a Highlands single malt, even though the name makes you think otherwise. It is made from Speyside water and also the palate is more Speyside like. A very easy drinking malt which won a gold medal at the 2006 San Francisco Word Spirits Challenge.
Nose: quite citrussy with notes of candied orange zest and spices, wood shavings, pine oil and winter spices
Palate: medium bodied and well balance with sweet notes of cereals and arak, malt, aniseed and a hint of smoke
Finish: quite long with lots of barley
