The Rock Island 21 years old is the first release of this new label in the Remarkable Regional Malts series by Douglas Laing. The Rock Island replaces the Rock Oyster Islands blended malt. The Rock Island is a blended malt coming from malts of Islay, Arran, Jura and Orkney. All at least 21 years old and vatted and bottled in 2019 at 46,8% ABV, non chill filtered and with no added colour. This is a limited release of 4200 bottles.
Nose: sea breeze with wood smoke, peat and vanilla pods
Palate: black pepper with slated meat, barley sugars, earthy malt aromas, maritime peat smoke and vanilla cake
Finish: a hint of vanilla with salty influences and warm spices
