The Xtra Old Particular Cambus 30 years old 1988 is a Lowlands single grain from the closed (since 1993) Cambus distiller bottled in the Xtra Old Particular series by the independent bottler Douglas Laing. This Cambus was distilled in September 1988 and matured in refill hogshead DL13600. It was bottled in August 2019 at natural cask strength of 46% ABV, non chill filtered and with no added colour, as a limited single cask release of 336 bottles.
Nose: caramel and vanilla with candied orange zest, cooked apples and pears and with a hint of ginger, pepper and oak
Palate: vanilla pudding with maple syrup, cinnamon, toffee, baked apples, milk chocolate and citrus
Finish: pretty long with aromas of vanilla, caramel, baked apples, pepper, ginger and oak
